"Most of us recognize an artificial Christmas tree when we see it, but we're not used to seeing one outdoors, alongside or in the place of its living counterpart. 7,000 Evergreens uses these trees to present creative possibilities for the public to consider. Most importantly, we encourage public participation. Anyone can find an artificial Christmas tree and go explore the possibilities."
-Justin Shull
The 7,000 Evergreens project was started by its current director Justin Shull in 2007 as a way to plant and document 7,000 artificial evergreen trees outdoors throughout the United States in an effort to foster creative possibilities for these trees in the landscape.
We consist primarily of volunteers who help organize events, plant trees and document the process. If you would like to plant a tree or donate, please contact us.
